Halloween Blog Hop ~ Day 3

welcome back to colorful's 4 day halloween blog hop
and for the exciting news - yesterday's winner is... {drum rooooOOll}
Doreen with scrapbookertink!
just email your info to colorfulscrapbooker(at)gmail(dot)com!

today's project is our dining room centerpiece
check it out!
(that took me all year to make ~ well it took a year to collect that many bottles!)

how i made it
  • every wine/ alcohol bottle we used (some are from family/friends)
  • once empty i would clean out and store in my craft room closet
  • in september i found these matte solid orange and white glitter candles at home goods
  • ripped some muslin fabric (about the size of a normal table runner)
  • and burnt down the candle {every once in a while i shake the table or bottle to make the wax fall down the side... makes it look so much more creepy!
it still needed the final touch
  • the cheesecloth was $1. at the dollar store
  • and black roses [someone] had gotten eric for his 30ith b-day. just popped them off their steam heads and tossed them around the table
and vuala a sophisticated haunted house styled centerpiece.

now for something not so haunted!

  1. YAH, congrats to me, thanks so much to you and Eila for sponsoring, missed taking part, hope to catch the next one! Love the bottle idea, need to drink more wine so I can try that next year Lol, hve a good day, bye, Doreen x

  2. It turned out so good! I've been trying to picture it since you told me about it....

  3. Naw Bekah now you're pulling my leg - this must be the bottles from the summer only! :))

  4. oh eila - can't fib you with can i! the truth is it did take all year to collect these however i did only keep the "PRETTY" bottles cause seriously who drinks 4 bottles of tequila (2 of which are patron) in one summer!! eric (my hubby) said this is a centerpiece for families with drinking problems cause every time he looked at the table - he would pull out a soda instead.. hehehe how funny!
