welcome to the 1st day of our
{back to school blog hop}
alex's K - 2 school book
ok, honestly i'm just going to admit it... i've been working on this project for a year! no joke - as you can see in our blog hop last year - where i made most of the layouts but this year its finished!!
this is alex's K-2 School Book
it includes everything cute and memorable from each school year. my goal is to continue this {now that i have the format down it should be easy!} continue this throughout his education. the next book will be 3-5 and finish out his elementary education {and since he's starting 4th grade this fall.. i've gotta start getting busy!}
a paper bag pocket holds some "mini books" he made
the chipboard tabs separate each year/grade
report card
some of the cards he received that year
in normal with any project... mozart wanted to help
isn't he fluffy? i love the little piece of paper resting on his bum.. that he had been tossing about earlier..
with all my projects i always do a little sketch first {helps me know where i'm going if i get interrupted}
chipboard
with tab
grey top, and graphic geometric squares {american crafts paper} in the center with solid white at the bottom with the number overlay
close up
finished chipboard divider
report card and attendance sheet
field trip
love the way the book turned out but more importantly alex loves it even more!!
now for the fun part! a giveaway
a bunch of fun back to school stuff for your next mini book or layout!
two old school library book cards in envelopes - one blue one yellow
1 wooden ruler
a couple mini clothes pins
2 extra large paper clips
1 type writer die-cut ready for some serious distressing //inking!

hey judy! thanks for becoming a follower! i was checking out your profile and see that you follow quite a few blogs *wink* but you don't have a blog yourself? anyway thanks for stopping by. i'll announce the winner of the giveaway on monday!
ReplyDeleteThat's a huge accomplishment! I love finishing big projects like that. (like when I scanned in ALL the hard copy pictures into my computer, BAH took forever!) But now its done and you can move on to the next. This honestly makes me want to jump back into making digital layouts and photobooks again. I love having a physical book to hold with all our memories from each year, but I got unmotivated when we didn't have the money to purchase copies of the photobooks I was making. Now hopefully I can get caught up. I have all of 2010 and 2011 to do! Crazy!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, hope the hop goes well. :)
What a fantastic project!
